Places to visit this Easter Holiday

At this time of the year, it’s lovely to think about springtime and the Easter holidays. Many families return to their holiday homes at Seldons Golden Gate Holiday Centre for the first visit this season. During this month more people begin planning their spring holidays and activities for all the family in the North Wales region. There are several Easter traditions that are kept alive such as egg hunting, hot cross buns or a roast lamb dinner. Here are a few places to visit this Easter.

 

1. Egg Rolling Race at Plas Newydd – 25th to 28th March 2016 11.00 – 15.30

This fantastic stately home near the Menai Bridge is offering some amazing eggy pursuits for the children. They can join in the treasure hunt with hidden clues that will find them a chocolate gift. On Easter Sunday, have fun joining in with the race to roll your eggs.

 

2. Beddgelert Easter Egg Hunt – 25th to 28th March 2016   11.00 – 17.00

The fairytale about Gelert and the wolf is only one of the legends from around the North Wales region that is included in this experience. Join in with the Egg Hunt at Beddgelert and Craflwyn, experience nature’s habitats, wildlife and wonderful views as you search.

 

3. Egg Hunt, Bala Lake Railway– 25th to 28th March

If your family enjoys a ride on a steam-powered train, then this is the outing for you. Search for the 15 Easter eggs hidden around the railway route by the White Rabbit. Taking place on all train journeys over the Easter weekend, as you travel through the stunning Welsh countryside.

 

4. Seed Fair at Conwy– Friday 1st April from 09.00 – 16.00

If you’re looking for something different to egg hunting, then a visit to this 700-year old Seed Fair may be just up your street. This fair is held in the High Street at Conwy where you can browse home-made products, honey from the region’s beekeepers local crafts, seed and plant stalls.

 

5. Anglesey Arts Week – 19th March until 3rd April

This year is the 12th annual event during which 60 craft workers, installation artists, printmakers, film-makers, photographers, sculptors and painters will be showing their exhibits in one of the varied galleries. Various venues include artists’ homes, galleries, sheds, barns, chapels and studios.
